Old world grandeur in prestigious Austin neighborhoods
Tarrytown and Pemberton Heights are two affluent Austin neighborhoods located on either side of the MoPac Expressway. Both of these charming communities share an atmosphere of old-world grandeur. West of the MoPac, Tarrytown has been home to Austin’s traditional elite since the neighborhood was first developed in 1915. East of the MoPac, the development of similarly prestigious Pemberton Heights began in the 1920s. Along with the neighborhoods of Old Enfield and Bryker Woods, Pemberton Heights is part of the Old West Austin Historic District, with 25 properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Tarrytown and Pemberton Heights rank highly among Austin’s most desirable neighborhoods. The real estate ranges from beautifully maintained early-20th century homes to striking contemporary estates. These lavish properties showcase a diverse array of architectural styles, with everything from stone country manors and Medieval Revival properties to California-style Santa Barbara residences and classic Southern estates.
