Lake Austin is a man-made reservoir on the Colorado River. With a surface area of nearly 1,600 acres, Lake Austin is a popular place for sport fishing, jet skiing, kayaking, sailing, and other water-based activities. Austin Country Club has provided the community with sophisticated recreation space since 1899. In 1984, the club moved to its current location, with a spectacular Pete Dye-designed golf course on the south bank of the Colorado River. Austin Country Club hosts the PGA Tour’s World Golf Championships-Dell Technologies Match Play. One of the four major world golf championships, the PGA Dell Match Play is the only major tournament to be held using a match play format.
